Exploring memory, place, and what it means to be human
Through painting and encaustic processes, I explore memory, place, and the relationships that shape our lives. This space brings together my studio work, teaching, and research—each informing the others through a shared commitment to reflection, care, and human connection.
Artist & Educator
Artist, Researcher, and Associate Teaching Professor of Art Education at the University of Missouri. Her creative and scholarly work resides at the intersection of visual art, critical theory, and arts-based research — grounded in the belief that creative expression is a Basic Human Right.
Paintings are currently being prepared for the upcoming exhibition.
You can view the pieces in person during An Embodied Practice of Remembering at Serendipity Salon & Gallery on June 5th @ 6pm.
Select paintings will be displayed throughout the gallery, and guests will be able to experience the pieces up close during the event.

In Her Own Words
Artist Statement
My work as an Artist and Educator is rooted in lived experience, memory, and place. Growing up in the Midwest woods, I developed a deep connection to nature that shaped my understanding of art as both refuge and inquiry.
"The slow, meditative nature of encaustic painting allows making to become a form of reflection and embodied thinking."
Commissions
